Interesting Viewpoint

Lyminge Bowls Club has achieved many honours over the years and one of the enclosed photos shows that quite clearly.(photo 1) It is the clubs main honours board. Kent County and Shepway honours have been won over many years.

At the beginning of every season the club runs a training course for anyone interested in playing the game of bowls. The course is at the club every Sunday morning from 10am-12am for a 6 week period starting in early May and it is controlled by the clubs fully qualified coaching team.

The success that members have achieved is in part down to the basic training given at the start of their bowling career and (photo 2) goes some way to proving this point.

This is a photo of 4 players who all started, and learnt, the skills of the game at Lyminge Bowls Club. For various reasons they all moved on and took their skills to another club and in 2008 (as a 4) they won the Kent County 4s title. At that time they were the only team to do this from a Shepway club in over 80yrs and no Shepway team has achieved it since.

The point is they learnt the game and the skills at Lyminge Bowls Club and succeeded, AND SO CAN YOU. So if you fancy giving it a try why not come along as stated above or email this website for more information. (email address on the "about the club page")
