The Finals will be played on the 26th August at Hythe Bowling Club, please support them if you can.

Congratulations must also go to Wendy, William and Jean Strange for recently winning the mixed triples competition at Rye.

 .

CONGRATULATIONS to the Lyminge Ladies who were runners up in the prestigious Shepway Rose Bowl competition at New Romney on 18th Aug, and the Men were also runners up in the Wood Cup, a similar competition for men, played at the same venue.

HOWEVER the combined scores of both ladies and men, meant that Lyminge were overall winners for the Stewart Allen Trophy.

This was an all day event, so an exhausting day for our bowlers.

The ladies who played were

Pat Boreham, Ann Port, Barbara Boucher, Maggie Young. Jean Strange and Anita Jones

and the men's teams were

John Andrews, John Criddle, Rob Hambrook, William Strange. Pete Boreham, Ian Cloke, John Tappenden and Terry Long.

Well done to you all.

NEXT Saturday, the 9th Sept, is FINALS Day.

Well done to all who have made the finals, but please do come along and support the finalists and your Club. The first game is at 1100 and there will be refreshments available during the day.

There are still a few games left to play, so make sure your name is down on the games lists in the Club house.

The County entry forms are up, if you intend doing any County Competitions, please put your name on the forms ASAP and pay your fees for them well before the 21st Sept.

The nominations forms for Club Officers are up on the boards, so please,if you wish to nominate somebody, please ensure that person is happy to stand for the position you are nominating him/her for, and also have the nomination seconded by a third person.

There are many social activities taking place during the winter months, these are also on the board. Please put your names on the forms if you are interested in joining in the fun.

It is intended to start work on the north bank of the green in the middle of Sept., if you have any building/woodwork skills, please contact John Marlow or Sid Jacobs, as we need people who know what they are doing, to repair the bank.

There will also be a working party on the morning of the 30th Sept, to prepare the Club for the winter season. This will entail putting away many of the bowls equipment and ensuring that they are not damaged, painting any areas that need protection, bringing in the benches and much more. All will be welcome.

Thank you for your support this season

best wishes
